From the American Theological Library Association (ATLA), Religious Leaders and Thinkers covers the Protestant Reformation with biographies of leading figures such as Jan Huss, Martin Luther and Jean Calvin. Starting with stories of the early church leaders, such as Paul of Tarsus, the collection moves through history to the story of the 19th century as told through the lives of leading thinkers such as Friedrich Schleiermacher, Dwight Moody and Arthur Schopenhauer.
While English is the predominant language in the collection, it represents 18 other languages including German, French, Russian and Japanese. Because it profiles leaders involved in 19th century religious movements, it makes an excellent complement to Religion and Social Change, 1723 – 1921.
